About Me

My full name is Richard Valentino Arci, but most of my friends and family call me Richie or Rich....I am a Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Actor... Ah bit much, but whatever moving on... I was born on August 18th 1982(Leo), I am red blooded American, but my family is 100 percent Italian, "so they can trace all of my relatives back to the old country". ha ha... My main focus is making music, and sharing it with the world, but I was born to entertain, and so when I'm not making music,I am most likley making someone laugh, so I got into acting as well. For fun...... I'm up for damn near anything...I love everything from being at one with nature, to being up in the club and just dancing all nite. I just like to have a good time...Most of the first album was co-produced by Daniel J Plante of ONE MIND PRODUCTION and myself. The song "Let it Flow" was co-produced by Paul Bartoszek of EXIT 59 PRODUCTION, and myself. The new stuff is in the making...One of my earliest memories is sitting in a car seat, driving with my parents and listening to music. According to my parents, I would make them play certain songs over and over again, and drive them nuts. lol So I guess it is safe to say that from the first time I heard music I was hooked. My father had grown up singing five part harmonies and loved doo wop, rock, funk, R&B, you name it, and so as I grew, I was introduced to all kinds of great music and started singing along with my father. One day he turned down the music in the car, and noticed that I was singing harmony to the song, and since I was only five years old, it was apparent that I had been blessed with an ear for music. When I was 10 years old I got my first guitar. At first I would just play around and have fun; then one day I was listening to the radio and began mimicking the notes I heard and discovered that my hearing allowed me to match the song note by note and eventually I taught myself how to play. A few years later I started doing same with the piano. By age 12, I began writing my own music and then my own lyrics. In my freshman year at Boonton High School, I met Daniel Plante, who would become my best friend and my musical partner in crime. We clicked immediately, and as Danny perfected his drums and guitar playing, and production skills, I focused on my vocals, Guitar, and songwriting skills. We began recording on basic stereo equipment and friends would compliment us. In our junior year, we started a rock band and played small gigs wherever we could. But, we learned that keeping a band together is no easy task. After high school, I enrolled at County College of Morris to study Music. I attended for awhile before I realized I needed to get out and record a demo, and try to get my name out there. Meanwhile, Danny had opened a small music production and recording studio where I was able to develop my demo, exploring beats, riffs, melodies, hooks and harmonies and embracing hip hop in some of my songs. My lyrics came from being in love, bad break-ups and struggling to get my career going; anything I was feeling inside I wrote down. Five songs emerged which mixed all the influences together: There She Goes, Feelin You, Cant Stop Thinking Of You, Wastin Away and I Dont Love You Anymore. The demo was then book-ended with Let If Flow (first as a radio edit and then as a club mix), a dance song that I recorded with a local house music producer, Paul Bartoszek, who I met while working the door at a New Jersey night club. When the cd was completed, I started selling it and sometimes giving it away wherever Danny and I played, from a local coffeehouse, The Town Grind, to the Boonton Avenue Grill, where we still play on Friday nights, to The Fireside, a bar in Denville, New Jersey, as well as at parties and gatherings. Every last person who heard the cd told me how much they liked the songs and how they played them constantly; and I have sold hundreds of copies of the cd to date. When Danny and I perform the houses are generally packed and the response is amazing. I truly believe that with the right resources and backing I could reach much greater heights. I would love to have the opportunity to work with some established producers and artists and take my music to a whole new level. Timbaland, the Neptunes, Dr. Dre are just a few of the talents I would love to work withbut there are many more, too many to mention, that I would hope to collaborate with.A few years ago, I auditioned for MTVs, Say What Karaoke, and was chosen to be on the show. I ended up winning and getting to perform twice on national television, at the MTV beach house in the Hamptons, where I performed Lose Yourself by Eminem, and on TRL at Times square, where I performed Nookie by Limp Bizkit with a live band and background dancers, which prompted an article in the New Jersey newspaper, The Daily Record. These small steps were important because I knew I could perform in front of that size audience and win the crowd over.Music has always been and always will be my escape, my passion, and my way of expressing my thoughts and feelings. I feel that God has put me on this earth to share my music with the world and give people that same experience that music has given me, allowing them to forget their everyday problems, if only briefly. In July 2005, I attended the International & Modeling Talent Association convention in New York City, where I got into acting. I got to compete in singing and acting competitions against people from all over the country and sing in front of the whole convention, about four thousand people and won Male Singer of the Year 2005, and 2nd Place for Male Actor of the Year 2005.
