TONIGHT IT ALL GOES DOWN AT CLUB AMAZURA JAN 9TH

Dancehall artiste Munga Honorable the number one singjay on-the-rise struggled for 10-to break into mainstream radio; the time he spent learning the craft from Capleton. The name Munga Honorable is a combination of his nickname and his respect for Rastafarians. The St Mary-born artiste who attended St Mary High before leaving for Kingston where he enrolled at Tarrant High School says he didn’t finish high school. The Gangsta Ras then entered the David House entourage where he began his new way of life- music. He started hanging out with them in 1997; he observed performances and studied his situations to see how I should handle the industry because I knew my time was coming. His time however, was short lived; only getting a taste of the industry in 1999 with a mediocre track entitled Tears of Joy - produced by Militant Music. Eager to hit the big time, Munga hung out at all of Kingston’s studios; getting to know producers and giving impromptu performances to anyone who would listen. After a small audition with dancehall hit-maker Don Corleon, the two agreed that they’d work together. Soon after, the gigs became more frequent. He lists Turbulance’s Birthday Bash, Sizzla Kalonji’s party and Bogle’s Memorial among the first crop of shows he did. Shows aside, his more memorable tracks include Flippin Rhymes and Hold You in My Arms on the High Altitude and Heavenly Riddims, respectively. But it seems his latest releases; Bad from Mi Born and Wine Pon It are the breakout songs of the impending summer. It’s being said that he has an album, possibly entitled Bad from Mi Born is in the works.
