About Me

ANDY WELLS / PILGRYM
Well I've started my solo contribution to the Calder Sound CD album; a track entitled "Road Too Long". Got the drums down to a click track and put on some Organ as a guide [sounding good so far]
Now Nick Shillitoe has got all the building work out the way on his new house and the wedding is done and dusted, we start in earnest on new tracks for his long awaited album. This could take some some time, with possibly as many musicians taking part as in the legendary Steely Dan sessions [Arrrgggghhhh !]
Currently working as producer/musician/engineer on Creedy's album [Privileged Vagabond] release date summer 08. [hopefully!]
Producing and recording debut CD from Hebden Bridge's Moroccan roots trance outfit Maghribibeat.
Work is also underway helping Richard Dalby of Sugar Fire finish work for his acclaimed new release which has gained extensive airplay on Radio Six Music's Tom Robinson show. 'Joyous Heaven' was recently voted best track played during one of the shows.
New material for the next Pilgrym album 'Great Divide' is being recorded at Hydeaway [sorry it's been a long time folks] but I thought some of the input track wise sold us short, so I went back to the drawing board to rectify this.
The latest excursion is a track titled 'The Thousand Year Flood' [15 min epic] which is more in keeping with the more heavily progressive feel of the album. One or two of the tracks I intially wanted to involve didn't cut the mustard so they had to go. Sorry to Johnny and Konrad @ Record Heaven but it will be worth the wait. Will be in touch soon guys.

The seeds of Pilgrym were sown in 2001, with a chance meeting between Andy Wells and Tony Drake in a Bradford music store. They got talking and realised that over the years they'd played the same circuits and seen each other play, but never spoken. Andy asked Tony to lay down some guitar on his album 'Lost The Will To Play. Since then, it's been a natural musical progression to the Pilgrym project - and now to their debut album 'Pilgrimage'.
Andy Wells has previously toured the UK and Europe with John Verity and played on three consecutive Verity albums. From there, Andy moved on to Baby Tuckoo and the very successful Voyager. Andy has written for such stars as Huey Lewis and Lisa Stanfield, and played with Mike Rutherford of Genesis, Sarah Brightman and Junior.
