Joey Zubkin

Joey Zubkin is a Christian singer and songwriter from Santa Cruz, California.
At the age of 18 Joey went to Sao Paulo Brazil on a small mission trip with his church. Little did he know that this "little mission trip" would change his life. While in Brazil, Joey felt God telling him to "pick up a guitar". That is exactly what he did. He picked up a guitar, and hasn't put it down since. Learning to sing and play guitar became a burning passion in Joey's life.
A year later at 19 years old, now fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, he packed his bags and moved to Santa Catarina, in Southern Brazil. After his first 6 months in Brazil Joey began to write songs. As the passion grew, God put several songs on his heart.
Finally people started calling and asking Joey to perform at their small churches. Accompanied by the back-up vocals of his girlfriend Merielli and her father Paulo on the piano, Joey has played all over the southern region of Brazil.
Now back in the states, at 21 years old, Joey released his acoustic demo CD "Jesus You Reign" and is working with producer Dave Nielsen on getting full length debut album underway.
