Native Rhythms was originally conceived of in the early 1990’s. The concept was an outgrowth of my intrigue with the Polynesian and African influence on fashion, style and architecture in the 1940’s, 50’s and 60's, particularly in Southern California.
My idea was to blend the neo primitive designs and artwork of this period with a futuristic edge, and create a line of clothing which reflected this. I believe that our company’s slogan, “Primitive Designs for a New World†perfectly encapsulates this philosophy.
Currently, we are offering a limited number of original graphics on shirts, but we intend to offer a full range of clothing and accessories in the near future. Our designs are fun, whimsical and accessible to all ages. We feel that they convey the excitement, adventure and mystery of primitive cultures with the unlimited possibilities of the future.
