Allen Germaine began his Latin dance training with friends and family on the streets of New Jersey 10 years ago. Therefore, his initial instruction came directly from "la Calle". Prior to meeting structured dancer Niya Patel in 2007, his formal dance training had been limited to salsa and hip hop. However, since then he has dedicated himself to increasing his versatility and improving his technique, taking classes in the areas of jazz, ballet, salsa and hip hop from a wide array of dance instructors. Al has received formal instruction consisting of private lessons, classes and/or workshops from the following instructors:Magna Gopal, Gordon Neil, Christian Oviedo, Randi Pearson, Joby Brava, Leon Rose, Sekou Miller, Mike Peele Rickey Mckinney Junior & EmilyThe partnership of Al Thomas and Niya Patel has flourished since 2007, when the vibrant pair first began to gain attention in Atlanta at salsa events. The duo's tremendous energy and sensational dancing, coupled with their fusion of salsa with other dance styles, immediately caused heads to turn. Niya's more traditional, structured form complements Al's urban flair, and the two have united to create a style unlike any other seen in this region. They have performed at various venues throughout the Atlanta area, and their graceful-yet-gritty choreographies have earned them standing ovations.
