I currently live in Reno, NV. I was born in Cambridge, England and moved to the U.S. as a child. But spent many summers living in England. I moved to Reno at age 17 and have lived here off and on since. I developed an interest in photography when my mother handed me the family camera and asked me to shoot the new family car. Instead of taking just a "photo" I laid on the ground and got an interesting angle. Mom also handed me the camera at a Neil Diamond concert and I went down to the stage and snapped off a few shots. When the pics where developed, it was seen that I had an eye for photography and it went on from there. I took photographic related classes in high school and college. I kept on photographing bands and while in England during the summer of'79- I shot Led Zeppelin. I started working for a photo lab where I was taught the fundamentals of photo processing and colour management. After my "apprenticeship" I worked in press relations at a local casino, where I met and photographed many "old school" stars the likes of Sammy Davis Jr., Neil Sedaka, Don Rickles and Bill Cosby, also up-and-coming comics Jay Leno and Brad Garrett.I went back to England to live and work for a while,but was disillusioned with the drab state of mid-80's England and moved back to the U.S. where I began managing photo labs and continued photographing rock bands.I was "discovered" by the local alternative press and worked as photo editor there for the past 10 years. While working at the paper I gained access to shoot many national and international bands. I've photographed bands such as Marilyn Manson,Metallica,David Gilmour(Pink Floyd), James Brown,Ozzy Osbourne, Sting,U2, Elton John and many a band in-btween. Also while working at the paper, I received over 30 awards from the Nevada Press Association, 2 national awards and was nominated for a journalist of merit award. I've photographed everyone from presidents to pornstars (I'm sure that there's a joke in there somewhere).My photos have been published in Guitar Player, Gig, Fernandez guitar catalog, J-17 and various other music, business and news publications.I've done CD covers for Daniel Ash (Bauhaus-Love&Rockets), Lee Rocker (Stray Cats), Sevenseconds and many other local and national bands. I currently shoot for Pollstar where my photos are are both on-line and printed in the international magazine. I've had the fortune to interview and photograph some of my favorite musicians over the years. I'm now looking to go a different direction in my career; while still doing music photography- I'm heading towards fine art landscapes I'm availible for free-lance photography. Contact
