We can do more to fight breast cancer and give all those who would otherwise die from the disease a fighting chance. We can make sure that breast cancer is detected early when it's easier to get rid of. We can do more to spread awareness. We can do more to fund research. We can do more to ensure that every woman and man has a chance at a full and complete life, free of breast cancer. If I have to endure a few blisters on my feet and tired legs all year long as I get in and stay in shape for October in Philadelphia, that is a very small price to pay because EVERYONE deserves a life time.Mary’s Angels is named after a very important person whom passed away from this awful disease. Mary Krol was the mother of Alexandra and Rebecca Krol and the aunt of Victoria Dutka. Mary was a fighter. She was diagnosed in 1998 with breast cancer and was only given 4 months to live. She fought for her life in the living room of the Krol’s house in a hospital bed unable to walk. For years she was there not able to go outside. A lot of tears were shed but she knew she wanted to see her 3 daughters grow up. On the night of November 7th, 2002- her birthday, she was in the hospital in a coma and on a ventilator. She was 46 years old and passed away on November 8th, 2002. Her oldest daughter Danielle was her primary care giver who is now attending medical school. Alexandra was a senior and Rebecca was a Freshman Washington Twp High School. The loss of Mary has been tough but walking in the Breast Cancer 3 Day has brought hope to the family that one day the will be a cure.We walk for not only Mary, but all those who are going through this disease right now, those who have survived, our families, friends and children. We will find a Cure.Join us on an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer! The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatmentWhere does all that money go? Net proceeds benefit Susan G. We are all between 20-30years old and we help eachother throughout our journey. We keep eachother motivated all year long through emails, training, and team meetings. Fundraising is usually team based. We host major events throughout the year inwhich all donations are split to help one another with our goals. We also raise money on our own through asking family and close friends to support us on our amazing journey. We want to make sure we each reach our goals, so we all do what we can to help along the way.WELCOME TO TEAM MARY'S ANGELS:
