Raised in a area known for its theme parks, delightful climate, and extensive convention facilities, Billz is ready to shine some light on his city and show the Hip Hop community that there is a little Magic brewing in the city of Orlando……..Born J’Marice Londrelle Hall… Billz(Da Profit) was raised in the small town of Winter Garden, Florida , located just out side of Orlando. Growing up in a single parent house hold with three other siblings, he experienced life as a constant struggle to survive and try to make ends meat. Though not classified as a “Street Rapper†he witness and endured a lot what the streets had to offer growing up as a child, having his father viciously murdered at the age of 1and his mother's incarceration throughout several periods in his adolescent years, it was not hard to make a decision of where he did not want to be. Like most children in urban communities he turned to sports as a way out of the turmoil and poverty of the ghetto, but as time went on and reality came to the forefront he made a decision to discontinue sports and pursue a career in music." I think it was the summer before my senior year in highschool when i actually decided to take this music thing seriously, thoughout like dat whole summer all i did was write rhymes. I didnt really have beats so i would jus write to the end of songs as the beat faded out, it was crazy." That year in highschool he joined forces with a basketball teamate who also rapped and together they formed PTP(PIMP TYPE PLAYERS). With production from then, up and comming producer Kane Beatz(ATLANTIC RECORDS), who also attended school with the duo, they released their first mixtape which sold over 2,500 copies the first week. Soon after that they began attending showcases and music conferences around the central florida area trying to make a name for themselves, but as the school year came to an abrupt ending so did thier partnership in music. Both of thier parents insisted that they move on and attend college. With words of inspiration from R&B singer Sammie(UNIVERSAL RECORDS) who he also attended high school with, B.I.L.L.Z. decided to his music career on hold to attend college at Bethune-Cookman University."yea man after that little chat wit Sam, i realized that you have to be patient with this rap shit, it just aint going to come overnite. So i just thought I would just continue my education and at the same time work on my craft." Although he has only been rapping for 3 years now, he captivates listeners with his flamboyant punch-lines, colorful voice, and overall intricate lyrics that are sure to give any rapper motivation to hit the lab work on their skills. But it isn’t his lyrical ability that sets him aside from most southern artist, it’s his dedication and determination that proves this Florida Gator is a force to be reckoned with. “Ya see most new underground artist don’t eat, sleep, and shit this thing we like to call hip hop, but with me it’s a never ending thing I’m up around the clock, perfecting my skills tryin’ to make it . Mama got eat ,nah mean gotta pay dem billz , ya dig!†Its that drive and willpower that shows he is content on showing listeners that he has what it takes to take his city to new heights.
