I AM a vegetarian. I do love meat, but I just feel so much cleaner and healthier being a vegetarian. Go figure.
I moved to NY from FL in 2005. I lived in FL for my entire life, I was happy to leave hell and come to the frozen tundra of NY. Kidding.
I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors degree in Anthropology. Now, I am a graduate student at SUNY University at Albany working on my masters in Biocultural Anthropology. My goal, you ask? Well, I have a strange interest in infectious disease, specifically HIV/AIDS and southern africa. I wish to explore the cultural and biological reasons for the pandemic and the effect of violence (structural, cultural, and sexual) on increased HIV/AIDS transmission in women and children. . Sounds hard, I know....
I love to learn, but I LOVE to teach more. It doesn't matter what subject, I like to be up in front of people (not children) talking about things that interest me and educating the masses. It's always useful to know a little something about everything in life.
I have known American Sign Language since I was 9 years old. Now it's fun to teach my friends dirty words and use them in public places.
I used to run 5k everyday, but now I just stick to kayaking, hiking.... you know.... outdoorsy stuff. I love being outside. I also love to camp. I rollerblade, ride bikes, and run around with my dog on a daily basis. I have a black lab. His name is Maximus. I love him :) He is my heart and soul.
I can play 5 instruments (piano, flute, oboe, piccolo, and guitar), but promised myself that I could not move on to the cello until I am proficient on the guitar. I am now bitter toward my guitar for holding me back from the cello.
