My name is Hank Christensen, not Williams and I really like to play my tunes. Thats all Ive ever wanted to do is play music. All these original songs Ive written about life, living and dying, seems my kind of breed, thats all that we do , to survive, to get by, taking any and every dirty job that we can do. From ranch work to sawmills, some of us are truck drivers (I havent) and playing music and raising hell in the honky-tonks in this great country we live in. My music started out at 8 years old learning on an old piano my grandparents bought me to take lessons on. I soon discovered I had an ear for picking up a song and go play it, and after some practice I got pretty good. But one cant carry a piano around everywhere they go, so I taught myself how to pick a guitar someone loaned to me when I was 16. Waylon, Cash, Hank Sr and others had a big influence on me when I was younger, followed thier style then found my own. I call my sound outlaw music for more than one reason, the first being its not mainstream or refined, it aint sweetened up with strings and smooth melodies. Its fiercly independent and "in your face" type of sound, this dont come out of the Nashville system today, this is roots music that represents freedom, hard living, addiction, loss, heartache and sorrow and redemption. The second reason is Ive lived this outlaw life, its in my blood and Im still a non-conformist still to this day, its hard for me to follow the "rules" of society.
