"ONLY TWO DEFINING FORCES HAVE EVER OFFERED TO DIE FOR YOU
JESUS CHRIST AND THE AMERICAN SOLDIER.
ONE DIED FOR YOUR SOUL, THE OTHER FOR YOUR FREEDOM."
I'm Sarah, and I've set up this page to share my big brother's story. I apologize that it has taken so long to update this. But whether you knew Byron or not, please read this and say a prayer for our men and women currently serving and for their families, as well as the families of those we have lost.
My big brother was an amazing person. Anyone, and I mean anyone, that knew him would say that. He'd been through a lot in his life and he still had a heart of gold. Being between my father's house, our mother's, his father's , and friends' homes, Byron made the decision to join the army. He went in wanting to serve in general and basically, help win this war, but as time went on, he changed... and he decided he wanted to become a medic. He'd only been in Iraq for 5 months when he was captured. He was missing from May 12th, 2007, until July 8th, 2008. We miss him dearly and know that he is now in heaven, and that he can no longer feel pain.
Byron will always be my hero, and a hero to so many. He didn't deserve to go so young, but he did. And we can hardly wait for the day we all meet again.
