About Me
Mark Romano - mandolin, accordion, vocals, songwriter
Mark is a multi-instrumentalist and ardent student of the British Isles folk genre. Back
in 1994 he co-founded the group known as Ploughboys!
He is an award winning-singer and songwriter, having received the ASCAP Lester Sill
Award, National Academy of Songwriters Artist of the year, and the Bronze Halo from
the Country Music Association.
Peter Romano - guitar, vocals, songwriter
There was no denying it -- it was True Love…The beautiful Irish girl, her golden hair dancing around her shoulders; the warmth of
peat-fire in the pubs, burning like torch lights in the night through each village along
the road… and The Music ~ always there was that wonderful music. This is how Peter
discovered the muse of the Celts; he knew he had been forever changed; and so, he knew,
would be those with whom he has the pleasure to share it…
Mark Haber - Bodhran
Mark Haber started playing drums at 13, and has been banging away at pots, pans,
hammers and steering wheels since. He picked up the bodhran at the tender age of 47
after discovering Irish and Celtic music. Mark is the newest member of the Ploughboys
and "when I put on me kilt an pick up me drum, the sounds just start flowin'"
Rich Cashman - bass guitar, vocals
Rich Cashman has been writing, recording, and playing music for 30 years. He's played
in every type of band from early L.A. punk to his college string orchestra, but always
seems to return to Irish/Scottish music. He currently has an album "Till the Wheels
Fall Off", that he co-wrote with Matt Amsden, being released. He officially joined the
Ploughboys in January of 2008 and has "never had more fun playing music!"
Chris Loken - fiddle
