Band Members: I play solo most of the time (just me and myself), but sometimes the position of the planets are just right for the FLAMIN’ SUNS to touchdown from deep space, Thats a rare occurrence and sure is a experience to be had. The members are: narada-drum, Bhiarava-electric guitar, and tara bass. Kumara played the keys on the album focus on the bliss.
Influences: I was a song writer from the start, just didn’t know. I’ve always payed attention to words, the meaning, the melody, the rhyme, the whole structure of the song. I first found it in hip-hop. It completely blow my mind how many words could be put into 1 line. Punk came next in my freshmen year of high school. I don’t know what to say about that other than they where catchy songs that really expressed the frustration (and lots of anger) with society. I really related to that. I once bought a anarchy patch cause I saw other punks wearing them, didn’t know what it meant, but found out soon, decided being a punk wasn’t for me. Well I guess I thought I then had to get more peaceful, more mellow, more stoned as a way to escape society. So along came the 60’s, beetle’s, grateful dead, door’s, pink floyd just to name a few. This lasted through high school, till I finally figured out if I wanted to escape society, if I wanted to escape the pain, the anxiety, the fear, the worry, I had to escape ME! The world that I created. Soooooooo I went to shoshoni yoga retreat and got my head back on straight. One evening I played for my guru for the first time and it went really well. He said I sound like bob dylan and I said I should pick up some of his music. Then Bob dylan (and woody) came into the mix, put all of it together and you got SURYADAS!!!!!!!
Sounds Like: Dylan on yoga
