I was gonna spend loads of time here, trying to write about myself in "third person" saying what "Darren Casey" is all about and what his musical background is, but quite frankly you've heard it all before!!
I first started DJing early 2007, but have had a passion for dance music since an EPIC night at Global Gathering 2005! God damn it that was a good night! You wouldn't know this, but until that life changing trip to Global (spare ticket was a stroke of luck) I fancied myself as a bit of a Ghetto Superstar, with my whole CD collection being R'n'B and Hip Hop!!!! Haha!!
I started out, like many others, playing hard house and trance (still love this stuff deep down). But I have now found a home with the house, breaks and techno. I love playing music with a nice groove, and like to build my sets around nice bass lines, clever breakdowns and dirty beats. Also, to keep things tasty, I do like to slip in the odd random sample so keep your ears pinned!
Although in the early stages of my DJing career, I have already played on the same bill as the likes of Judge Jules, Fergie, Paul Woolford, Adam Sheridan, Lisa Lashes, Lisa Pin Up, Richard Durrand, Will Bailey, Micky Slim and Pete Jordan who are massive DJ's in my eyes, so hopefully this is a sign of things to come! I have already played regularly at various events in my home town Coventry, "PLAYTIME @ The Warehouse", "FORWARD/MuSICK @ Dare" and currently hold two of the best residencies in the city "ROLL DEEP" and the one and only "CLASSIQUE @ Careys"......so keep your eyes peeled for my next event!!
Anyway, the music I play is the music I love, so whenever you see my behind the decks, you can be sure to see me dancing and having a good time (nothing wore than a boring DJ!!!!)
