We've all shit talked about the SB music scene. And we don't mean the "mainstream" stuff that is at SB Bowl, Lobero, Soho, etc. We're talking about underground music: punk rock, metal, hardcore, indie, rock, whatever. We've heard, "It sucks, it's dead, blah blah blah."
This is clearly not the case. There is a really good music scene in this area but it has gone back to being more underground. The flow of information has been interupted. Some major complaints about the area are, "Where can we play? Who do we contact? I don't know any bands around here." The truth is that there are many dedicated people setting up shows, new and old bands playing all the time, and friends and fans keeping this culture alive. Everyone just needs to be on the same page so they know what/where/when shows are happening.
The purpose of this page is to be the main hub of information for SB and the surrounding areas. The "One-Stop-Shop" infopage, if you will. Bands, venues, promoters, fans, etc. can come to one site and get the info they need about ALL SHOWS. We'll be at many different shows handing out flyers, going around town posting flyers for upcoming shows, highlighting bands that are on upcoming shows, sharing music, basically anything we can do.
We also need volunteers to bring it back to the streets. We need people who are willing to go to shows, take pictures, post flyers, spread the word, just help out anyway possible.
We need to be positive, collective, and make the absolute best of what we DO have.
