IndieCharts.com : Visit LaFamilia Records's Profile LaFamilia Records is a family oriented label straight out of the southern streets of Albany, GA (229 Time) that contains some of the most lyrical and talented artists in the area. The label, formed by ALB's own United Nations, started off as a small company to help promote and push out U.N.'s album(s) as well as all of the solo acts that steamed from the group. Even from it's humble beginnings the label turned heads and made people actually listen to what was coming out of the speakers. The one statement that most would say was "Damn, the South REALLY had something to say!!" United Nations was already hot on the 229 music scene performing at every major club in Albany, GA, as well as getting spins on the radio. At least three of their songs from the upcoming album "Headphones, Radios, & Stages" are posted on the 96.3 website getting plays daily. They also did an interview for Albany State University's radio station 92.7 where they debuted their hot new single "Wet Dreamz." Every other label in town knew that U dot N dot was a forced to be reckoned with. U.N. has done songs with just about every major artist from Albany, GA including Field Mob, Caskit, No Gud, DarkBrown & Dru, etc. and you could feel what they called the "LaFamilia Movement." That movement was growing stronger by the day as the label started to add on some of the south's hottest acts. One of the first artists to come aboard was Nite Oul, Da Busch Lad. Nite Oul was already family being that he grew up with United Nations and remained close friends with them at all times. Nite Oul is an artist that shocked everybody with his clever delivery and metaphors to go along with meaningful songs. He can flow with the best of them as well as blaze a track all by himself. His first mixtape "Uncaged" will be droppin in 2008 and is sure to be a banger!! The next artist to come aboard needed no introduction as he has already made a name for himself in recent years. He goes by the name of Dru (from the group DarkBrown & Dru) and he is one of the realists lyricists out! Dru came aboard for the love of Hip Hop and has been dealing with United Nations since back in the "Who Got The Flava" days of 106.1. Da Golden Child, China Red, and Dru would go at each other with rhymes daily trying to become the champion of the show. They all realized that they had the same dreams and clicked up together to help form a "Super Label." Dru's album "I Am Him Volume 1" will also be out in 2008. The next two to come aboard are ArVon and Monte Carlo, God Brothers of K.T. and China Red. These two are extremely talented and can rock to any beat or any subject. These two are the brothers of Shawn Jay from DTP and are equally as talented as Mr. Fleetwood Mac. ArVon and Monte Carlo will be dropping "Stupider Jupiter" and "Da Lemonade Stand" respectively as well as other material in 08' and 09' so be on the lookout. The also have a group collectively called MCA that is set to tear up the game!! Right after Dem Johnson's came over, a Swaggeriffic artist by the name of Phly2k became a member of LaFamilia. Phly2k has a sick style that he boasts on all of his songs. He is a southern artist with a slick/confident swag which includes his ability to deliver complex metaphors. He has always been down with U.N. and was always family so it was only right that he joined forces with LaFamilia. Phly2k will be releasing his mixtape "Keepin My Kool" in 2008. Next to join forces with an already talented label was Hennakuz' Aquarian. Hennakuz' was already know on the ALB music scene as a member of Da Lryikal Assassonz with fellow member P-Relli. Hennakuz' is another talented artist who can deliver sweet 16's hip hop or reggae style. He will be releasing muzik real soon so check him out. LaFamilia then recruited their first R & B group "Made Tayla" which includes Crede and Ro. These two will deliver another aspect of the label with their smooth soulful sounds. You can find them singing various hooks on any of the roster's songs. They also have their debut album droppin soon. Big Slab is another important part of the label. He is another producer who bangs out hit after hit along side of K.T., ArVon, etc. Between all of these producers, LaFamilia will NEVER lack a banging instrumental. "Do-IT" Pruitt is LaFamilia Records own Hype Man. Expect to see him at the shows and in the streets repping LaFamilia to the fullest!!! L.P. is a part of the "LaFamilia Movement" as well and has history with U.N. from back in the days. U.N. first started their muzikal quest with a label called RichLakes Recordings. L.P. was an artist and business partner of the lablel and was there to witness U.N.'s growth into a major group. L.P. along with Big Slab and others are Board Members of the label. This label is set to takeover the music scene in the 229 first and then take it to the mainstream. There is an over-abundance of talent scattered throughout the label with more to come in the near future.
