The concept of Mine Was A Morning was started in Spring of '07 by guitarist Brad McDougal and bassist Dan Tracy. They quickly picked up their friend and pianist Pierson Pflieger. Pierson and Brad had already been writing some songs, and music (written by Brad) was soon to follow. Not having a drummer they asked their friend Gabe Kasper (formerly frontman of The Most) if he would consider joining them as percussion.
In Fall of '07 Mine Was A Morning played their first show at the Concordia University Wisconsin opening for The Most.
Shortly before recording their first EP they picked up a friend of Gabe named Corey to play guitar for them, the addition added incredible depth and sound to their already stunning lyrics.
A couple of weeks later they where at Gabes friend's house in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a 13 hour EP recording session (to be out soon).
Following the summer of 2008 MWAM found themselves without a drummer as Gabe had left for Seminary in St. Louis. This was the cause of much turmoil as a drummer is an intricate part of a band. After several weeks of searching Corey found Justin Frisque a drummer at Concordia and asked him to drum for MWAM. Justin was excited to join the project. Look forword to more shows and show Justin some love!
