About Me

This site has been set up by a concerned fan of Trace Adkins to help raise money for Trace Adkins's charity.. The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN). You might have watched Trace on the Celebrity Apprentice as he was working to raise money for such a worthy cause. This site does not take any donations, however those wishing to donate to FAAN directly will find several ways to donate listed on the left hand column. We are supporters of FAAN, and of Trace. I myself have spent the majority of my life living with food allergies, and 100% support Trace and FAAN in their efforts. The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network was established in 1991. FAAN's membership now stands at close to 30,000 worldwide and includes families, medical staff, school staff, and representatives from government agencies and the food and pharmaceutical industries. FAAN serves as the communication link between the patient and others. FAAN's mission is to raise public awareness, to provide advocacy and education, and to advance research on behalf of all those affected by food allergies and anaphylaxis. FAAN works to build public awareness of food allergy through the media and through education, advocacy, and research efforts. FAAN staff conducts seminars and training sessions on food allergy and anaphylaxis for patients, school staff, government officials, health professionals, restaurant and industry leaders, and other policy makers. FAAN works with policy makers on federal, state, and local initiatives in such areas as food labeling, epinephrine availability, and management of food allergy in school, camps, airlines, and restaurants. FAAN supports and participates in research studies focusing on the epidemiology of food allergy. FAAN publishes several newsletters and provides books, booklets, videos, and other products designed to educate about food allergy. All of FAAN's publications are checked for scientific accuracy by our 14-member Medical Advisory Board, comprised of the leaders in food allergy research. FAAN is supported by membership dues, sales of materials and services, grants, and donations. Regardless of the funding source, FAAN retains complete editorial control of all materials. FOOD ALLERGY & ANAPHYLAXIS ALLIANCE (FAAA) FAAN is a founding member of FAAA, an alliance of patient education groups around the world. FAAA's mission is to unite organizations working in food allergy and anaphylaxis in order to exchange information and advance key issues of importance to those with food allergy and anaphylaxis. FAAN works with the media to insure fair and accurate reporting on the issues surrounding food allergy. FAAN conducts publicity campaigns and is frequently quoted in print, television, and radio press in the United States and abroad. The FAAN website is full of useful information for anyone who has or who has children who have food allergies. Please visit them at www.foodallergy.org for more information. Or simply click on their logo below. Until there is a cure, education is the key.
