Music:
Barenaked Ladies, Beck, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Carbon Leaf, Death Hat, Dixie Chicks, Flight of the Conchords, Jack Johnson, Jars of Clay, Jason Mraz, John Lennon, Kara's Flowers, KT Tunstall, The Lucksmiths, John Mayer, Lemon Demon, Maroon 5, Norah Jones, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel, Ray LaMontagne, Sufjan Stevens, Switchfoot....I like lots of kinds of music, really. I'm completely closed minded with heavy metal, though. It's trash, plain and simple. I have a soft spot for old country and bluegrass. At the moment I'm going through a Beatles and Ray LaMontagne phase. They're just both so fantastic. ^_^
Movies:
Forrest Gump, Back to the Future I&II (3 kinda sucked), Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Little Miss Sunshine, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Napoleon Dynamite, Annie Hall, Juno, The Muppit's Christmas Carol, Harold & Maude, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (brilliantly politically incorrect), Mom & Dad Save the World (LOL), Original Star Wars Trilogy, Water (an Indian film, it's AMAZING. SEE IT.), Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, To Kill a Mockingbird, Young Frankenstein, All You Need is Cash, The Princess Bride, Those Beatles Movies ("A Hard Day's Night" & "Help! Fangirls have no shame), Sense & Sensibility, Pirates of the Caribbean; The Curse of the Black Pearl, 13 Going on 30, Big Fish, NOT "THE NOTEBOOK."
Television:
The Simpsons, Doctor Who, The Twilight Zone, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Pushing Daisies, Futurama, Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (6 episode BBC show in the early 1980's, super cheesy and low budget, but kind of casually brilliant when you get used to it), Seinfeld, Fawlty Towers, Saturday Night Live, M*A*S*H*, Spongebob Squarepants and assorted other vaguely old school cartoons, A&E's Pride & Prejudice (The bandwagon, I am on it.), The Office (U.S. Version), King of the Hill, My Name is Earl, Family Guy, 30 Rock, Clone High, Heroes (sort of).... I watch too much TV come to think about it...
Books:
To Kill a Mockingbird, the Harry Potter series, the Increasingly Inaccruately Named Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy of Five, The Golden Compass, A Sand County Almanac, Travels With Charley, A Wrinkle in Time, the Wayside Story books, Holes, The Catcher in the Rye, The Adventures of Blue Avenger, Catch-22, Little Womenand many others...I also love a good essay or piece of prose. Anna Quindelan and James Poniewozik are great.
