KONEMETSÄ 2009 – Open Air Forest Festival

The 5th Konemetsä in 2008 gathered almost 4000 daily visitors to enjoy a groovy weekend out in the lovely Finnish forest. It is still quite small compared to many other festivals but this already makes it the largest electronic music event in Finland. We’re expecting a bit more party people in 2009.
We believe that every event has to evolve and Konemetsä is no exception. We’ll come up with new surprises and innovations for our next summer’s festival. One of them is that Konemetsä 2009 will be a four days festival instead of three days. We’re starting already on Thursday on the 2nd of July. We’re also postponed the ending from Sunday noon to Sunday 6pm. We hope that this will make your festival experience even more enjoyable than before.
Even if we’re aware of that Konemetsä is an event driven festival, we will still do our very best so that the line-up would be both appealing to our demanding core audience and surprising at the same time.
Konemetsä wants to put high effort on becoming even more ecological than before. Last year we did well but there is always something that can be done even better.
Mission Statement.
Our mission is to produce the annual open-air forest festival known as Konemetsä and to support and promote an alternative lifestyle of peace, love, unity and respect..
Our intention is to put up an environment that will connect people to themselves, others and the living nature that surrounds us.

We believe that music, arts and culture can be nurturing and healing in a very extraordinary way.

We want to become one of the leading festivals when talking about environmental issues (Please help us to achieve this objective).

We are accessible for everyone. Minors can though only participate with a legal parent.

The Konemetsä Crew is working together as friends who have different non-political roles based on immediacy.

We try to be as non-commercial as it is possible to survive and all our supporters are participants rather than sponsors.

The main thing is to produce a proper festival, have a good vibe and make people smile.
