My singing career has been long and varied. As a teenager, I began performing as a single act, playing acoustic guitar and singing in clubs in the Tri State area. I moved to California, and continued entertaining in the Bay Area. Landing back in NJ, I played in clubs on the boardwalk at the Jersey shore., One of my most memorable venues, was a club called Park Place.
I have had many wonderful opportunites singing with bands in the early days, that I hold close to my heart. Bandito, Ruffian, Random Chance, The HTU band (my brother and sister were members) to name a few. My sister Mona and I continued on with duo acts ( She and my mom both, now, are teaching the angels to sing)
After many years of singing with other bands, I decided I needed to create a band of my own. In 1996, "519 South" evolved, and what an evolution!
With this band, came many opportunities. We have had the privilage of opening up for Mitch Rider and The Detroit Wheels, (Devil with the Blue Dress), and the Rip Chords.
We have played many festivals, including Lambertville Shad Festival, Tinicum Art Festival in Erwinna Pa, Anderson Seafood Festival at Deer Path Park in Flemington, the list is endless, and the memories continue on.
I have had the great honor of filling in with the Mojo Mystics, Reel to Reel, Cramner Bros, and Prankster. Sitting in with Steve Guygher, Richard Ray Farrell, Mikey JR, Nasty Ned, Johnny Charles, Jeff Kline (recently joined Jeff, in laying back up vocal tracks on his cd) Bill Turner (Bill Haley & the Comets)
The music scene is a great one, you meet so many wonderful people, I am so very blessed to be a part of such an amazing world.
The best thing about being a singer, is not needing a roadie for your gear.
