The Mighty Salabanzi

This band is a powerhouse, a tour de force of early 90s grunge aggression and late 90s rock tranquillity. It, like the songs themselves, start as they mean to continue, introducing crescendo after crescendo of musical waves that hypnotise the listener into - of all things - tapping his foot and nodding his head. The band evoke all the energy of a Pearl Jam concert, and holds up to this comparison favourably. Hell, Feeling the Boston even has a seemingly never-ending Stone Gossard-esque solo that threatens to break the whole track under the weight of its awesomeness. Luckily however there is enough actual substance here to keep it all afloat and the band weathers their dextrous barrage with grace and poise by being both catchy and frustratingly hummable. this is the Little Band That Could which becomes the glue that binds the world together. - benpretend 2.o8
