About Me

Music has always been a part of my life. When I was young, my dad used to write us children's songs and play them for us on his nylon-stringed guitar. I wrote my own songs emulating him, even when I didn't know any chords.
In high school I taught myself to play guitar, and began to write songs of my own. I learned about music and songwriting from playing along to Tom Petty and Allman Brothers CDs over and over and over again.
In college I met a brilliant pianist named Sean Griffith, and together we formed a five-piece band called Nine Stories Up. We opened for Cypress Hill, The Bloodhound Gang and Redman, as well as gigging regularly at bars in Georgetown, Washington D.C.
When I moved to New York I began work as a solo artist. I self-produced my own album, 12 1/2 Songs About Girls, and played around the city. Tracks from that album are available in my music store.
Today I have formed a new band, Studio E, and we are gigging regularly across Manhattan. Check us out at www.myspace.com/studioenyc.
Please listen, enjoy, and leave a comment about what you like. And please support me-- an independent musician-- by purchasing an MP3 from my online store. Thanks to everyone!
