If a principle has legitimate assets, they should be able to provide not only screen shots and Bloomberg shots of the assets, but also provide bank statements showing their bank giving the asset long, marginable value. Also beware of bearer bonds - most are fraud. All instruments should have ISIN and CUSIP, ownership should be proven with real bank statements, and the bankers must be willing to communicate on Bloomberg with my broker/dealer to verify. The assets must be pledged for the trade, and transferable via DTC, or (in very limited cases) Euroclear. If these criteria are met, then I will need to communicate directly with the principal (not a broker or mandate) to set the deal up.
