Being a long time fan of Hip Hop culture and fashion, Mr. Markis; (aka Mark the Rapper) loves the music he makes. Rhymes in the archived notebooks date back to his early adolescence and have proven to mature with every new life experience. Beyond the studio and abundance of poetry matched with select music compositions Markis brings well rehearsed songs to the stage.Aiming to meet the needs of every promoter who books him for his many talents, he strives to be versatile. Whether Dj-ing a top 40 dance club, rapping at the coffee shop for the local poetry mission, or running sound at the bar and grille he is always properly prepared. In-store performances and street fairs are also among the many events Mr. Markis has taken part in. In retrospect he has found that it takes a true entertainer to hold the attention of smaller venues. Passion keeps music and entertainment at the top of his endeavors.Without name dropping Markis is very proud to say that he has shared the stage and worked in the studio with many of his Hip Hop idols of yesteryear. With that said, opening for worldwide headliners has conditioned him to handle large crowds with a sense of confidence as well as the understanding of production as a whole.Mr. Markis has engineered many independently released demos/albums including Lake Afx “Chapter One†in 2001 followed by “Chapter Two†in 2003. In 2004 Markis and long time friend DJ Zest released Orphanage Cipher “Flight of Ideas†featuring himself as the front man.
