Goodbye letter:Do not mourn my loss, for I go to a better place. I lived and loved more in my short time on Earth than most. By many people’s standards I was not successful in life. But anyone who knew me can attest to my ability to bring joy to those around me. I made many friends, learned many things, and experienced first hand what it is to live.Hopefully my life being ruined by a three dollar joint will bring this nation’s stance on marijuana reform into better perspective. I was given the same punishment for a misdemeanor marijuana charge as people (who in the same court room) had hundreds of pills, crack, cocaine, meth, etc which were all felonies. What ever happened to the punishment fitting the crime? I have learned justice is not only blind, but also deaf, dumb, and racist. This single blemish on my permanent record cost me several good jobs. Had I been born anywhere else I might have lived to see the age of 27, but at least I came close. I have fought so long to only survive, and yet surviving is the thing that brings the most pain.Judge Pete Johnson, and my racist drug court counselor "Deangelo Bruce" (xxx) xxx-xxxx ext xxx) have my blood on their hands.I have struggled to forgive those who helped in my final undoing. I sincerely hope some good can come from my loss, since apparently none came of my life by so many standards. I came so close so many times to true happiness. However, please do not think I was at all times unhappy. As I write this I have memories that bring a smile to my face. I am simply tired of being constantly reminded of the burden I am to those I love.We will all answer to God in the end for what we have done.
