I don't measure success using the conventional, "tried and true", traditional way. It's not about how many degrees you have, how many awards you were given, or if you have a corner office with your name on the door. Sure that stuff may be nice. But that isn't the end all, be all of success. Because if it were, that would mean only the privileged have the means to be successful. That would mean the kid who lives in the worst inner most city this country has to offer, the kid who's parents conceived him and then dropped out of high school, doesn't even have a shot at achieving true success. This is why I choose to not measure real success this way. Because that would mean success isn't for everyone. And as far as I'm concerned, success doesn't discriminate. Real success doesn't exclude. So it's not about the framed diploma, the international recognition, or the number of zeros in your paycheck. The real, true, something to write home about kind of success is taking what life has given you and making the most of it. And just when you feel you've reached the limit, finding new ways to make your current situation even better. Then, and only then have you become truly successful.
