I teach private voice, piano, music theory and drama lessons out of my home studio. I am currently accepting adults and mature young people who are at either a beginner or intermediate level in one or more of these areas. Click here for more information.
My current layout resembles a leotard I wore in preschool. It was black and my mom sewed different colors of buttons on it. Then I drew a giant outline of myself as part of a school project and I depicted myself wearing that leotard. I have lots of great family stories.
My great Aunt Mary and Uncle Bob were driving down Water Street. I believe the time was the 1950s. I'll have to ask my dad what kind of car they were driving. Anyhow, the car started to wobble and my aunt is fabled as saying, "Look, Bob, there goes a wheel!" I guess you had to be there or know someone who was.
My grandmother's family, the Aters, came to America in 1765, settling in Virginia. My great-great-great-great-great-great-great (count 'em--seven!) grandfather, George Ater, walked from Virginia to Ross County in 1799 with his nine children. His wife died on the boat on the way over. There is a strong component of survival and integrity in my family.

My mom's father's family, the Tremains, have a village named after them in Cornwall. There is scant information about the family about five generations back. Otherwise, we can trace them back to Cornwall in the 10th century a.d. Cornish is a really cool language--part English, part French. The word "Tremain" comes from the French "trois mains", meaning three-handed. Some people say we were thieves. I like to think we were pirates scavenging the land for tin.
