My photographs are currently on display at Kavarna. 707 East Lake Drive, Decatur, GA. They include photographs from Rose Hill in Macon, Georgia, Bonaventure Cemetery, in Savannah/Thunderbolt, Georgia, Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, Alabama, Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky, and two sessions titled "Wonderland" and "Dance with The Angel of Death" both photographed in Oakland Cemetery.
I photograph many things, but the main focus, the passion and heart of my photography is the cemetery. I wander the South in search of hidden pockets tucked away deep in forgotten places still standing to remember those who have passed.
My fascination and love of cemeteries came several years ago after someone took me to Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. Since then, my life has changed so much and I have lost myself on the back roads of my South searching for resting places. In my quest, I have learned a lot about myself and discovered I have become a woman I am sometimes at war with, in awe of, and blessed with the courage to live a life with passion. Because what do we have if we don't have passion for taking a breath every day? And I just want to document it all as I traverse this world looking looking breathlessly, it will always be done with grace, dignity, and full of heart.
And well you know. as Leonard Cohen said.. "I will never return the Holy Grail to it's rightful owners."
