Wyllys

About Me

Background from flickr userAfter receiving his first set of turntables from his best friend Alan Veniscovsky in 1997, Wyllys set out on a path dominated by Drum and Bass and Jungle. Once he saw more and more Phish shows, his path seemed to split wide open. Phish’s multi-genre approach to live music and improvisation made Wyllys realize there was a vast world of music out there and in order to truly reach out to the crowd, a DJ must be able to incorporate a myriad of styles in his set. And so it was born.....House, Hip Hop, Rock and Roll, Jazz, Drum and Bass, Trip Hop, Broken Beat...you name it...it is in Wyllys’ collection and could quite possibly make an appearance in any one of his ferocious live sets. The energy Wyllys brings to the crowd is as brilliant as the track selection and mixing. Be on the lookout for his first multi-disc release coming out soon. Till then, go catch one of his sets. It will knock you on your ASS!

Sounds Like: A hollow body guitar wailing and reverberating off an arena wall. A free fall from 10,000 feet in a dream. 1000 crickets creating a spontaneous orchestra. A steel mill set to a metronome. Pure sex. Pure endorphins. Subtle sameness changing changeless change........
