If I remember well, we chose to be Black Ink because first of all, we are black people; not to discriminate. Second; we associate ourselves with ink because we know that it is something that apho ihlalekhona, iyaspreada ne? And kuzozonke i inks ezikhoyo, the red, blue etc; we chose black because it remains forever la ikhoyo.Ink spreads, and we intend to spread through the world. We want to be the black stamp in the world. At the same time we bring light.Prosper: I Black Ink i art movement.Eligama elithi “Black†lodwa, is the spirit of togetherness, expressing the spirit of abantu abamnyama. Then, eligama elithi “Inkâ€; says that we express these feelings in a form of art, ngokuthi siyibhale. Ink emphasizes the fact that siyabhala, kukhona i order.Fire: Obviously it is an art movement…OBVIOUSLY.Fire: … It doesn’t end there; it is a youth development program we help our selves to grow PERSONAL infact in all dementions of life SPIRITUALY, EMOTIONAL ect. We are instilling positive values in a form of ART e.g Drama we are attacking social issues that are affecting young pleople the stories we WRITE and ACT it's the reflection of the LIFE we LIVe its things that we see avery day in the street. We believe our GROUP MEMBERS and the COMMUNITY LEARN from this stories.Jeisie: What does black ink mean to you?HMMM… I THINK THAT BLACK INK IS THE BLOOD OF EVERY SOLDIER THAT STANDS STRONG ON WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN. (NIETHER BLACK NOR INK HAVE TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY, IT’S WHAT WE’VE ALL MADE OF IT.) and what’s also nice is the fact that it doesn’t just deal with young people, but actually with very talented young people.Fire: I think that it shouldn’t just end with talented people. It is also our duty to recognise hidden talent and develop that.Jeisie: It is where the character gets built; in terms of self realisation, umtu azazi, which is i identity yakhe & also izinto njenge respect get built. You also get to understand how a human being should behave. People behave anyhow these days, here you get direction.SO WHAT YOU’RE SAYING IS THAT WE ALL GIVE EACH OTHER DIRECTION?Jeisie: No, that’s not what I mean. We get our direction from the lord.Prosper: Siyifumana kwizinyanya.Fire: Maybe we should find common ground from all these beliefs. We must have a common understanding.ZUVUYO, WHAT IS BLACK INK TO YOU?Zuvuyo: It’s everything.Celeste: Art movement.Prosper: Let me tell you how black ink started out.First there were solo artists here in Du Noon, mainly hip hop. It actually started at this performance in the V & A; there 5 of us collaborated on 1 song, that was when we decided to call ourselves Black Ink. The five of us were; Me, Messenger, Jeisie, Unicorn and Lucifer. After that, we saw that if we were to come together as artists, we could “prosperâ€. So from then Black Ink started having meeting. So we started Black Ink on the 7th of January 2006 at Jeisies shack.Sounds Like: "Before you judge the black astrology, the truth is in charge" Lucifer arch angel.Sounds Like: “WORD IS THAT WORD HAS IT, WORD BRINGS DIVINE MAGICâ€.Now black has develop to onather level watch it!........WE BLACK INK ...... WE INK FOR A RESEON
