About Me

Formed in San Francisco late 1997 out of the ashes of Skankin' Pickle and The Rudiments...78 RPM's carried the Ska Punk torch and played the music as it was meant to be played by veterans of the genre. During the band's early years they brandished a true hardcore punk, ska and pop sensibility which later developed into quite a potent and hooky power pop / new wave outfit. Playing with bands such as Link 80, Slow Gherkin, Suicide Machines, The Readymen, The Briefs, The Epoxies and so many more...The 78's earned their place in a time when all but few groups if any were doing what they were doing. The band went their separate ways in late 2003 and with the passing of Lynette there will not be a reunion. Thanks to all the fans who came out to see and support them! Asian Man Records now features all the efforts produced by 78 RPM's in their online catologue where you may also download them....Enjoy and long live the 78's sound!!!I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
