I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I have been a performing artist my entire adult life...fortunate (foolish?!) enough not to have to hold down any "real jobs" since my brief stint at a mortgage company in the mid 1980s. Eking out a living in Maine this way is admittedly difficult. I worked with another Maine magician in the mid-80s and was thrilled to rub shoulders with lots of the "greats" during that time (Dai Vernon, David Copperfield, Max Maven, The Pendragons...).My true love has always been theatre, though...upon graduating from college I co-founded a touring children's theatre company (Krackerjack Theatre Co.) with my then-husband; we performed nearly 4,000 shows in our 14-year run. Although I was one of the two actors in all our shows, I also designed and painted all our scenery and costumes, as well as handling all the administrative "stuff". (Just as I do now with The Magic of The Steelgraves!)KTC came to an end in 2002, as my now-ex-husband moved to Los Angeles to pursue his own career goals; and I partnered with Markus shortly after that...so although I am no longer an actor, I am still a performer. The Magic of The Steelgraves is based in Southern Maine, but we regularly perform semi-nationally. Our performances run the gamut from small intimate private events to large-scale theatres and corporate engagements. Yes, we'll even do the occasional birthday party...when there's time.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

My 20-year-old self and slap some sense into her (!)...by the same token, I'd like to meet myself at 75 and learn from her wisdom....Libertarian-leaning individuals and others who not only can envision this society heading in a better direction, but are empowered and skilled to effect real change (NOT "Hillarychange" or GOD FORBID, the "Change" of Obamination!).Thomas Edison. "Dante" (the magician). Anne Frank. Marie and Pierre Curie.

My Blog

Loss, adaptation, etc.

It is not even worth going into, but this was one hell of a week.  [Wes, thank you for your messages; it's nice to have "myspace" friends who are friends in "real" life.] We are adapting after th...

Angelique’s State Of The Union Address (WAKE UP, PEOPLE!!!!!)

"This just in"...via e-mail, of course.  As a society we've grown to dote upon these missives and forward them to everyone we know.  Most of us like a good joke, and our deepest selves ...
