About Me

Inquiries should be forwarded to E.M.G. at: 2 Peachtree Street, N.W. | P.O. Box 7 | Atlanta, GA 30303 | 212-714-7076The days when record companies scouted out singers as multi-million dollar investments, shaping them into world-famous, platinum-selling superstars seemed like paradise. Then, we began to see that the jewlery was loaned, the cars were rentals and the homes were headed into foreclosure. The record companies owned everything - including the music. That's when things started to change and finally those days are nearly over. Record companies as we once knew them are on their last leg. The industry is now singing with a different tone and anyone who wants to enjoy success should listen carefully. The music business has recognized that the internet has somewhat leveled the playing field between mainstream and independent artists and record companies. The main divide now is budget. Naturally, without any money, you're facing a serious challenge. Ironically, most of the artists who are considered serious musicians have everything in place except a budget that enables them to compete with the "big boys" on a professional level. Record companies know that this is the main variable that keeps them floating on the top. I think we can all agree that it certainly isn't the unique, cutting-edge music they release each day.The second major obstacle for indie artists is the mainstream radio monopoly record companies continue to enjoy, despite the best of anti-payola efforts. Bottom line? Money talks; however, indies have successfully fought back with resources like itunes and Myspace as well as local, internet and satellite radio. This scenario has left independent artists and record companies with 2 choices; wait for a major record company to endorse their artists and subsequently benefit from the initial investment or promote their own artists with every resource available and reap the benefits themselves through partnerships. More independents are choosing the latter and it seems to be paying off more and more. These days, anyone with a decent budget and a working knowledge of the music business has a shot at becoming a major player in the game. Solid music, internet marketing, fan-base building and Neilson-verified sales records will bring major companies to your living room with blank checks and talk of forming a business partnership. For a major label, signing an independent artist with an established record of fans, sales and music means less investment and more profit.EMG (Earthtone Music Group, LLC) is an Atlanta-based independent record company that understands the new trend in music business. We are comprised of several smaller companies who have invested into, "The Randevyn Projekt", a forthcoming pop/urban alternative effort that we believe has what it takes to touch Billboard. Each subsidiary company is committed to pushing this album to major sales status through internal, unconventional efforts of marketing, production, imagery, performance and alternate radio outlets. The short-term goal of EMG is to form a partnership with a larger record company, (maintaining the right to use our imprint) that will launch Randevyn into mainstream visibility as our Flagship artist. This is the new tone in music.
