I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

This space is dedicated to a dream I started on March 26th, 2007, after 11 years of an intense passion for photography, when I bought my Nikon D80 (better known as Lady D80kins) and decided to share my visions with the world.

I specialize in club/event/glamor/concert photography. I have had the pleasure of photographing bands such as HexRx (my photography can be seen in the jewel box of their new CD, "D") and CHANT. I've done headshots for several well-known performers, such as Jack Dagger, and have been the official photographer of FreakShow Deluxe, one of the greatest carnival sideshow acts EVER. My club photography background includes photography work at major Los Angeles clubs such RUIN, DV8, Discipline, and Perversion. I have had multiple art exhibits at HELL, RUIN's Night Gallery, and various Downtown Los Angeles galleries.

As of late, I am narrowing my scope down to event/concert/club/PR photography, with glamor/headshots/magazine photography as a secondary focus. I am available for a range of gigs, from coming along on a tour as a photographer/videographer, or acting as a wandering photographer for a weekly club event. I have a portfolio, tour experience, and good references to back my professionalism and skills if needed.

My rates are 50-150 per event/session, depending on venue size/subject matter. With all paying clients, my trademark 24 hour turnaround is included in the price...I can guarantee my clients a full, usable set of pictures in their e-mail within 24 hours after the shots are taken.

***I am available to travel both within the US and to limited international areas, as long as half my travel expenses are paid in addition to my normal fee. In the case of local events (LA/SF area), travel fees are negotiable***

In addition, my extremely fine-tuned publicity skills are available for hire under the same pricing as my photography. Combined with my photography and my writing talents, I can create a fully functional and extremely effective press kit and/or publicity campaign for your business. I can be contacted at [email protected] for more information.

As for me personally?

Good GODS, it's time to re-write this part...

Let's see...I'm your average Los Angeles-born crazy bleach blonde girl. I see life in a series of images and songs, hence my Replicant-like obsession with having a photograph of every significant moment in my life, and the fact that I remember everything based on what I was listening to at the time of occurance. Almost all my morals come from the comic books I read as a child, Firefly, and Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension. I have been fortunate enough to photograph and hold a decent conversation above the normal fan twaddle with most of my heroes. I am even more fortunate to have an amazing pack of wonderful people to call my friends, and a fiance that has renewed my faith in humanity. I've done almost everything a girl can do in my 25 years, with plans to do anything I missed in the next fifty years or so. I will be the first to find the counterfeit hundred-dollar bill in the cash register, figuratively speaking, so save yourself the trouble and bring me who you REALLY are when we meet, or it will get really nasty, really fast. Experience has left me perceptive and unforgiving of fakes who use their make-believe to hurt people.

At the end of the day, I am an occultist, a switch, a deviant, a chameleon, a healer, a listener, a priestess, a steampunkette, a rivet girl, a Bastard Twin in the Cult of St. Asshole, Toy Scout in Dr. Steel's Toy Soldier army, a soon-to-be wife, and above all...someone who will always do her damndest to be there for anyone who needs her help.

For fun, I dance a LOT, work out too much, go on photo safaris, watch creepy and/or horribly bad sci-fi/horror films, stick needles in myself as a human pincushion, let other people stick needles in me as temporary/permanent piercings and tattoos, listen to REALLY LOUD music, love my friends and family, go out for sushi and martinis, make fun of morons who come into my work, go on more photo safaris, listen to Happy Hate Rants, play Etherscope/D&D/Dark Heresy/various other geeky tabletop and LARP games, collect and read books, look PRETTEH in odd outfits, drink coffee, have fun, see beauty in weird shit, wrangle more photography gigs, drink WAY TOO MUCH COFFEE, and hang out with my soon-to-be husband and our friends. No adventure is too small, whether it be trying a new restaurant, going on tour with a band as their photographer, or helping Dr. Steel take over the world.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Okay, here's the reality check: I'm not here to meet anyone but potential friends, clients, awesome musicians, and other photographers. Most of the people in my Friends List are people I know in REALITY, so IF YOU FRIEND ME, SEND A NOTE AS TO WHY. As for why I'm not looking for love, I've found it already. I am getting married in January 2010 to the most amazing Man I have ever met, who has stripped away my veils to find the true woman who lies beneath, and He still loves me for all that lurks there. I ain't never loved a Man the way I love Him, and I will love Him that much forever. No one has ever made me feel so powerful and brave in the face of uncertainty, and I know He'll always be my Mal and Buckaroo until the day we drop dead from fighting zombies for ten days straight. Gods know we have enough swords and guns in the house right now to survive...

However...I am ALWAYS up for the friendship, companionship, and good company of: photographers, artists, writers, models, occultists, magicians, gods, goddesses, demigods, demigoddesses, demons, angels, freaks, geeks, know-it-alls, dancers, costume fiends, modern primitives, vampires, models, risk-takers, heart-breakers, Absinthe sots, grammar Nazis, friends, partners-in-crime, people who aren't afraid to do something new every five minutes, people with manners and common courtesy, people who don't mind my outbursts of Geekitude, those who will sing along to "Europa and the Pirate Twins" at the top of their lungs with me, individuals who don't mind when I get an image stuck in my head and force them to pose for Lady D80kins for an hour while I make the image a reality, fellow Bateman Dance practitioners, Toy Soldier comrades and the Glorious Dr. Steel himself, people who will not judge me for being myself, and, ABOVE ALL, those people who see beyond the Veil of Illusions, and can view the world in its purest, most frighteningly beautiful state. Oh...and your mom, of course. That should go without saying.
