I'd like to meet:
people who have strong opinions and the facts to back them up, aren't allergic to books, and have big, sexy brains. A tall order, I know.
"Sincerity is the foundation of all successful relationships. In a thirsty world, it is not the form of the water jar that matters - it's the contents."
I don't necessarily want people with whom I have many hobbies in common as I love to learn new things. The upside of this is that I have many talents, the downside is that I sometimes spread my time to too many projects at once. I am a jack of all trades, master of some.
Music:
Lately (as of early Nov. '06), I've been listening to a lot of Honeycut, 8mm, Junior Boys, Aimee Mann, Frou Frou, Guster, Imogen Heap, The Lingus, The Muffs, Mundy, Nirvana, Pilot Speed, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, Snow Patrol, Sugarcult, Teddybears, Turin Brakes, Weezer, The Wonderfuls, Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Movies:
If the movie involves vampires, the supernatural, action, or horror, count me in! If it's drama or comedy, we'll see. Forget about mushy chick flicks & period pieces... I only watch those if I'm forced to by a friend's burning desire to plunk down $6 to see a steaming pile of crapola. (Well, unless there's a good sex scene.)
Television:
I don't really watch TV unless it's posted on teh intarweb. I like the show Psych b/c I can generally figure out whodunnit before the sidekick can. Heroes is awesome & Desperate Housewives is my guilty secret.
I spend too much time on web comics...
xkcd
Toothpaste for Dinner
Dinosaur Comics
Cyanide & Happiness
Questionable Content
Ctrl Alt Del
As Seen in Vermont
Natalie Dee
Copper
the Perry Bible Fellowship
A Softer World
Buttercup Festival
Books:
"Select All": I have rarely come across a book I don't enjoy. I read a lot and the only way a book can foil me is by being exceedingly boring (very few qualify - I even read the dictionary, that's how big a wordie I am), too juvenile (goodbye Lemony Snickett), or The Phantom Tollbooth. Try as I might, I could never get through the Phantom Tollbooth.
Anyway, remember, the book is always better than the movie.
Heroes:
Be your own superhero.
Treat people as if they were what they ought to be, and you help them to become what they are capable of being.
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
