Brian Pheneger / Smartalecks

I have been a writer since I was 12 years old. Playing in my first band at 15. I worked as a movie projectionist at local theatres. My first song played on local radio. Wow!! That became my passion. I also worked as a stagehand in many broadway plays. This led to the lead role in Music Man at my H.S. I moved to Nashville in 1997 with wife Sheree. Here we write about our lives and plug away for a major cut!! "Smartalecks" started as a comedy trio, now a duo consisting of myself and Duffy O'Donnell. Bart Mangrum was in the original trio and the other writer. "Monkey & the milkman" is a true story about my family and our pet monkey!!
