In February of 2007, three friends were dream casting and discovered that they were meant to create music. Over the next few months, hints of math rock began to sound from an upstairs bedroom. By the beginning of the summer there were five visionaries humming melodies to each other and after a summer of collaboration they were ready to begin recording their first album. After recording for about eight months squeezing in session here and there on weekends, Empires (formerly In Algebra) decided to trim their bold full-length album to a six song EP. The long awaited EP entitled Sons of Science was finally released on April 20th of this year completely recorded by only the five band members in a home studio. One of Empires’ main personal goals is to constantly create new music and is therefore looking forward to their next album release some time this summer.
