About Me

We are committed to using film as a tool for Social Change, Education, Equality, and the eradication of all forms of Oppression. Our methodological approach consist of on-ground fieldwork, which comprise of informal interviews, participation observation and snowball sampling. This ethnographic approach helps gather the true voices of those directly affected by injustices and inequalities in the United States. Although we strongly believe that statistical data analysis is an important method in generating research, our films mainly focus on the voice of the people. With this quick introduction of our desired methods, let me now take a moment to introduce our latest work. In late 2006, we released the Katrina Survivor Documentary "Down But Not Out." This film captures first hand accounts of the human rights violations many New Orleanians endured during hurricane Katrina. Taken from months of on-ground fieldwork, "Down But Not Out" is a film that should not be missed. We traveled back to New Orleans in early 2008 to shoot our next film "Dos Americas: The Reconstruction Of New Orleans." Shot in the cold month of January, this film focuses on the growing Latino population in post-Katrina New Orleans. Largely ignored by mainstream media, this film addresses not only the Latino reconstruction contribution of NOLA and the demographic changes, but also the difficulties many Latino workers face in the recovering city. Issues such as Black/Brown relationships, racial tensions, racism, wage-theft, police brutality, worker exploitation, on-job injuries, worker organizing and resistance, and cultural assimilation are discussed in the film. Our mission is to reintroduce said topics back into American minds. We are a grassroots collective that is dedicated to the struggles of our communities.
