"FAWM stands for February Album Writing Month. Each year, in the second month, songwriters worldwide gather at www.FAWM.org to challenge themselves and each other to write 14 songs in 28 short days. It ain't easy, but it's healthy and doable, even with a full-time job not related to music. The project began in 2004 as a way for singer/songwriters Burr Settles and Matt Hopper (Kentucky and Alaska expatriates, respectively) to hold each other's fickle muses accountable to make music. In 2005 the project grew to over 100 participants from six countries. Here’s some statistics from last year’s challenge from the FAWM site, “371 intrepid tunesmiths registered for the challenge, out of which 72 reached the 14-song goal, collectively penning 1,374 new musical works.”
Fawmers are a motley mix of music professionals, students, nomads who bum guitars, homemakers, and folks who work day jobs but rock nightclubs. We range from age 15 to 65. Some of us write songs all the time, for some it's been 10 years. For all it is a great experience."

The last 4 years I Participated in FAWM and it has been a success for me. I've composed, sequenced, programmed, and recorded in a wide range of music styles.

It's been 3+ years since I started working live sound and recording engineering @ The L.A.B. @ Seattle Drum School. Its really been awesome, and I've expanded my technical skill set, and the people that I've gotten to know, work with, and learn with has been very cool.
