Anthony began training in the fighting arts at the age of seven when his mother relocated to Orlando Florida to provide a better education for Anthony and his older sister. His father stayed back in New York to help provide better for the family for work reasons. Anthony was brought to Rene's Dynamic Sports Center to participate in the after school karate program. Not long after beginning the program, Anthony begin to participate in both boxing and karate. Soon after achieving black belt status
Owner and instructor of Rene's Dynamic, Robert Rene gave Anthony his first job working in the same after school program that he himself came up in. He was a martial arts instructor certified with Orange County to work with kids since 2002. Soon after reaching black belt status Anthony achieved his first national title and began to pursue boxing full time. Working part-time as a karate instructor and full time high school student he was able to compete on the national and international level on numerous occasions and return successfully with the win, all while keeping good grades.
Anthony has traveled to almost 65% of the U.S. for amateur competition and internationally has been to Bahamas and Puerto Rico for competition.
In 2004 after falling short in the U.S. Trials spots he turned to trainer Rene to mentor him in his move to become a professional. They both agreed to make sure that he was ready before making the big change.
In 2005 Anthony graduated from Winter Park High School and received the USA Boxing Scholarship for college where he enrolled at the University of Central Florida. Towards the end of his freshman year he got signed by KO Kings Atlanta and turned pro. He quickly moved along the ranks while still keeping good grades in the field of civil engineering. He carried on an 8 fight winning streak before his first controversial loss. Anthony did not let the loss stop him. He soon left to go to various training camps with world class athletes like Andre Berto (WBC Champion), Paul Williams (WBO Champion) and Nate Cambell (WBO, IBO and WBC Champion) to rededicate himself.
Now in his 4th year in college Anthony has had a five fight winning streak and captured a World NABC Middleweight title and the highly regarded WBA-NABA U.S. Middleweight Title in the process and only looking farther ahead to have his name in the history books.
