About Me

Avion Bleu has originated from Olle Hansen, who has been writing songs since wayback. The songs were in the beginning very much built on Olles fingerpicking guitar play and contained elements of jazz and classical music as well as traditional singer-songwriter tunes. In the winter of -03/04, Olle started to introduce his songs to one of his friends, Fredrik Atterfelt (aka Farao), originally a drummer, who joined him mainly as a percussionist but also with additional singing and guitar playing. At that time the music, which had a pretty much low-voiced character, started to evolve, taking a more dynamic and rhythmic expression. This dual constellation performed some few times and some songs were recorded. But as new songs were written they found that the music was evolving into a more band-fitting form. Some friends were gathered to try out the songs in a band-set manner and it turned out to be very inspiring. The final constellation came to be in the winter of -05/06 when Samuel Larson (aka larsa) and Martin Ahlbäck (aka alo) joined the band. Larsa, with his somewhat rough bas-play, brought a more rocking attitude into the music and Alo lifted the songs to a new level (segment) melodically, contributing with his piano and accordion. While rehearsing and playing during the winter and spring of -06 the music took the shape that it has today: some kind of alternative indie-rock with influences of –folk and a pinch of classical music.
