ERVIN «EP» POPE
Biography & Discography
«CAN ANY GOOD THING COME OUT OF WATTS? We have found him, of whom Kanye West, Ne-Yo, The Game, Snoop Dogg, & Angie Stone (just to name a few) did write: anointed super-producer Ervin «EP» Pope, the son of Watts and Master of Music. Come and see!» (spin on John 1:45, 46)
EP is comin' out of Watts and he's comin' with a vengeance for the West Coast! He has been grindin' behind the scenes in the music industry for several years, playing the keys for many of the most talented and popular artists in the game (Jay-Z, G-Unit, Twista, Common, Janet Jackson, Brandy). This extraordinarily gifted musician has been relentlessly pursuing his dreams, steadily and patiently making his way and paying his dues. He is now making his mark in producing, already having penned productions for Ne-Yo («Get Down Like That», In My Own Words), The Game («Lookin' At You», Doctor's Advocate), and Angie Stone («Pop, Pop», The Art of Love and War).
He is presently in the studio working on The Game's upcoming third album. And he is Executive Producer for the upcoming soundtrack to the award-winning documentary, «Bastards of the Party» (release date February 2008), directed by renowned director Antoine Fuqua. EP's sound is fresh and unique, his talent is endless, and he knows no boundaries! This brotha can really bring it—slow jamz, jazzy tunes, ballads, mellow, uptempo, thumpin' street beats—you name it, he can produce it! Having been exposed to and a student of many genres of music, EP says: “I take a little bit from each of those genres and I blend it in, it’s that gumbo, and I just make good music.” He is presently developing several artists for his own production company, Ervin «EP» Pope Productions and The Furnace Music Group. We haven't seen the last or the best of him yet, so look for his tag on several productions to come!
