This is a review of our new EP, "Dream Trains Through Floodplains" that was done by Bethany Lee of the Tri-City Herald:
"Idaho band cranks up noise on EP
By Bethany Lee, Herald staff writer
Twin Falls, Idaho, powerpop-rock band Amblett Died Trying is releasing its first independent EP Dream Trains Through Floodplains on March 14 on iTunes.
From the moment the first track starts up to the last song, Amblett will keep you tuned in.
The tracks Let's Play Pretend and I Do Not Think I Will Materialize Completely are not the strongest on the album, but are great introductions to the band's sound. Bassist Wyatt Crowther is subtle but his presence is powerful, adding depth to Completely.
Singer Keith Ketchum's vocals transition between the melodic Bert McCracken of The Used, to the powerful Cove Reber of Saosin.
The group gives a tinge of punk rock in Dreaming Your Demise. The track has great composition that continuously builds and Ketchum's harmonizing and throaty screams pair nicely.
The strongest track is Scripted Silence. For a song about the lack of noise, it's anything but. Lead guitarist Ronnie Billodeaux is terrific, leading the song and keeping the energy up. Billodeaux works amazingly with rhythm guitarist Tony Morris, each carving out their own niche without drowning the other out.
Not Meant For Weary Eyes -- A Fairytale showcases drummer Jason Lancer's skill. His timing makes everything work, paired with Billodeaux's magnetic guitar.
Fans can buy the album for $5.94 on iTunes."
