My name is Clyde! I am an 8 year American Pit Bull who was just recently adopted by Kristen, my new mom. Well my first mom. Anyway, I lived in the yard of a beautiful home in Tarzana, Ca. I had 3 acres of land and a huge pool, the house was nice but I wasn't allowed inside. I lived outside with my friends, or so I thought. Back in Feb. I was attacked by one of my friends and taken to the hospital, that's where my mom worked and she and the other girls fixed me up. It was at that time when Kristen, who has known me for over a year decided that enough was enough and convinced my former owner to give me to her. Now Kristen needed me like a nail in the head. She thought that she could find me the perfect home with no other animals (I don't play well with others, well...what do you expect I lived in a yard and killed small animals)and all that changed when she tried to clear up my skin. See since Kristen had met me she was concerned with the skin on my belly and my leg, she thought it was infection and would tell my owner that I needed to be brought into the vet. She had this argument all the time with him and his response was always the same,'I throw him in the pool and the chlorine will make it go away'. So Kristen would give me medicine and it never really worked and my owner wouldn't continue the medicine liked she asked. Long story short, I know you think "Reader's Digest" version please, but after I was officially hers, she did a biopsy to see what it would respond to and it came back as skin cancer caused by over sun exposure. Ok so now Kristen is thinking, 1. Pitt Bull, 2. Animal Aggressive (I am working on it) 3. Cancer / who would take me, so she took me home only for a couple days. (Yeah right, sucker) So here I still am at my new home on a bed with a full belly and more attention than one dog can have. I go to work with my mom everyday and I hang with my girl's who saved me and make all the clients fall in love with my charms. My mom has me on medicine everyday now and she looked into surgery and chemo, but according to the specialist, it would only buy me maybe 2 years. So she decided that she would make me comfortable and loved. The down side is that she puts shirts on me everday to protect me from the sun, and all I hear is "how cute." Cute??...I am still a Pitt Bull, dammit. But don't tell my mom, I kind of like the attention. One other thing I should mention about myself is that I have also been diagnosed with "happy tail," that is when you wag your tail so hard all the time that it bleeds. Pretty cool huh? Think I'm complaining?
So if you have a dog with light skin or no fur on some parts, if they go in the sun please put SPF on them,
Much Love, Clyde

Don't fear precious, I'm here
Lay your head on the pillow, look out the window
The new day out there is clear
Just lay down now, do not fearI know there is something inside
like an army of painbringers marching to war
You cannot run, not even hide
But don't fear precious, my dear ClydeI'm sure that after this disease
You will go somewhere higher
To a place with golden trees
To a place with a fresh summer breezeMommy loves you, don't forget
So do I and your brother Blues
Live your life now and don't regret
Let death be but a silhouetteI know there is something inside
and it's a soul that was meant to change lives
But don't fear, my dear dear Clyde
I think you were sent, so that we would collide.
