Well, I was bored one day and decided to build something.
What to build though? A Hurdy Gurdy of course!
A What?.... A Hurdy Gurdy!One of these things...
While I consider myself alright with woodworking, I simply dont have the tools or experience in building one thats Lute backed, so I settled for building a box shaped one sorta like this.
Why a Hurdy gurdy? I dont really know, I wanted to play a new instument for awhile. I was looking for something uncommon, or unheard of,and came across the Hurdy gurdy.
I then looked up where the heck I could buy such a great instument, I did a bit of searching on the web, and found several builders, very few in the States.Mostly Europe.These things cost an arm and a leg.
So why not try and build one myself?,well, Ive never actually seen one personally,and that goes for playing one. So this may be way over my head, but I'm going to attempt one anyway.
This Build is currently a work in progress, but I'll be posting a photo album of my current progress on it, check out my picture section for that.
As much as I would like to see this project finished, I am going to have to put it on hold until it gets warmer here.
Its just too cold outside to work on this.
