About Me

I get bored easily. So about three months ago (GOD time flies) I packed up my little put-put, grabbed a couple of New England bound companions, and set sail on a new adventure to York (the New one, none of that old crap). These days I spend my time dodging oncoming traffic, dodging oncoming parking tickets, chillaxing with two of the cutest wee ones I've seen in quite some time, having social bevs with the only two people I know here, and generally complaining about the ridiculous course load I've undertaken in my attempt to be a rockin' graduate student.I still don't like Carrot Top or diet anything, and I've recently discovered a love for Myspace surveys, which I've claimed to despise in the past. a href="http://myspace.nuclearcentury.com" style="position:absolute; z-index:9; top:0px; left:0px; height:120px; width:200px; background-image:url

My Interests

Flipping houses for pretend, taking advantage of free nights and weekends, looking at pictures of Appalachia.

Music:

I like things that please my aesthetic, and dislike songs that don't. For more details, please contact me directly.

Movies:

I don't watch movies much. When I do, I like them to be light most of the time. Not light as in subject matter, but light as in not too many scenes where a majority of the screen is black, because then you have to watch it with all the lights out in order to properly see, and movies generally make me a bit bored so I like to do other things while watching them, and that's difficult when it's dark in the room. (Sidenote: It seems that I should have added "Run on sentences" to my list of interests.

Television:

In Belfast, we only got three channels, so I learned to live without tv. I'm continuing that tradition nowadays, by refusing to pay the ridiculous price for cable. I miss it, but I'm doing ok.

Books:

I used to read, and I used to like it. A lot. Seriously, my taste in literature was rivaled only by my taste friends. I could share a whole list of the books I love, but to be honest, these days I only read journalism textbooks and the New York Times.

Heroes:

I think I'm supposed to say Superman or John F. Kennedy or something. Both are cool, but personally I tend to favor Larry Walters, Greg Graffin, and my old boss.

My Blog

Can blog be a verb? 'Cause I just blogged up a storm!

I drank coffee at 8pm and chain smoked despite the fact the my cold has turned me into a snot machine, so now I'm wide awake. I don't do the blog thing much anymore, but thought maybe I'd give it a tr...

Help End the War: Declare Communism a Post-Modern Masterpiece

I was going through my old books a few days ago, and came across one by Bill Maher, the "Politically Incorrect" guy. It's a little outdated because it focuses on politics and current events that were ...

Cigarettes and NYPD Blue

Tonight I had drinks with Lisa and we waited and waited to see Niall, my long lost friend from Queens, but he couldn't make it in the end. That left us with three hours for general chit chat, and I mu...
