B orn in the year 1989 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Bruno Masquio, since his childhood, always
liked music of different styles . His first instrument was an acoustic guitar, beggining to play
with 11 years just for fun with friends, mostly pop rock.
At 15 years he started to know other styles and bands like Iron Maiden that was and is still
his favorite band. In same year, he decided to play bass and, from that time on, he began to
really enjoy music and take it to the professional side, instead of just a distraction.
He studied his instrument
by video lessons, classes of basic music theory, always watching and knowing different
bassists, and most important, playing alone and knowing his own original way of playing, because despite of admiring many
bass players, he never wanted to be the same as anyone.
His main
influences are Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) because of his simple and true way of playing, and
Billy Sheehan, eclectic and virtuous always inside the musical context, and another ones like
Randy Coven, Michael Manring, Steve Bayley, Stuart Hamm, Victor Wooten, Marcel Jacob, Jaco Pastorius,
Zuzo Moussawer, among others.
Today, Bruno is studing music production in the university; is part of the band NUKEN that is finishing its first CD mixed by him. He's also composing, recording and producing songs for his solo career
which are all in myspace and waiting make a CD.
