Absinthe

I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a distilled, highly alcoholic, anise-flavored spirit derived from herbs including the flowers and leaves of the medicinal plant Artemisia absinthium, also called wormwood. Thujon, the chemical in wormwood, gives me an extra little something from other liquors that makes you more talkative and inspired when you drink me. Contrary to popular belief, my nickname, la Fée Verte, or "the green fairy," doesn't come from strong hallucinogenic properties, but mostly because of my green complexion. I do, however, tend to make everything look more significant. :)I'm best served anywhere from a 1-3 to a 1-6 ratio of me to water, with some sugar added, either through the traditional method (pour me over sugar on a slotted spoon into a glass) or the Czech method (pour me on a spoon full of sugar and light me up baby). Another popular way is to drip me over crushed ice in a sipping pipe.I've been outlawed since the early nineteen hundreds ever since that nut Van Gough chopped off his ear for a prostitute after he'd drank me. I'll take credit for his paintings, but that one was all him. Recently, though, I have become legal again in my home-continent, Europe. :DThis is one site that will ship Absinthe to the us.Here is an American author who talks a great deal about me in his new book, "All We See or Seem." I encourage all of you to check this one out! Visit my storefront to learn more

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

"Absinthe has a wonderful color, green. A glass of absinthe is as poetical as anything in the world. What difference is there between a glass of absinthe and a sunset?""After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world."- Oscar Wilde"The first month of marriage is the honeymoon, the second is the absinthe-moon."- Voltaire"For me, my glory is but a humble ephemeral absinthe."- Paul VerlaineCome, the Wines go to the beaches, And the waves by the millions! See the wild Bitter Rolling from the top of the mountains! Let us, wise pilgrims, reach The Absinthe with the green pillars….- Comedy of thirst, Arthur Rimbaud"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."- Ernest Hemingway
